HOW IS A HELMET SUPPOSED TO FIT MY HEAD?
In order for a ZOX helmet to protect properly and fit comfortably, the helmet must be SNUG. It must be sized to your head correctly. The best way to check sizing is to put the helmet on and see that the helmet feels snug equally all around your head. The helmet should not feel too tight or too loose at any particular point around your head.
Use the following chart to find the correct helmet size for your head. Please remember that all head shapes are slightly different and the sizing chart is to be used as a starting guide or reference, helping you to find the correct helmet size for your head.
Measure the head circumference one inch above the eyebrows and ears, then use the sizing guide for an approximate size.
Correct fitting apparel should provide protection and comfort; all helmets, leathers, jackets, gloves, boots, shoes and other safety gear only work as intended if sized properly.
WHAT IS THE WEIGHT OF YOUR ZOX HELMET COMPARED TO OTHER HELMETS?
Our ZOX helmets are comparable in weight to the competition. There will be a very slight variation during a production run, but this is almost imperceptible by the rider.
CAN I GET REPLACEMENT PARTS AND ACCESSORIES FOR MY HELMET IF I NEED THEM?
All the spare parts should be available from your local distributor. Consult the CONTACT section to find the distributor nearest you. Please note that on some models, parts are available in custom colors to match other components of the helmet. However, stock replacement parts are also available.
HOW DO I REMOVE THE HEADLINER AND CHEEK PADS?
Place the helmet upside down in your lap, or on a soft clean towel to prevent scratching the finish. There are snaps that hold in each cheek pad. Reach in and grab from the top and pull each snap outward. Once the pad is free from the snaps, pull out and repeat on the other side. To remove the headliner, detach the two snaps in the back, by reaching in and pulling outward. Now move to the front of the headliner. The hard plastic vent piece holds the front. Gently pull out and the liner is free. To install, reverse the steps.
DO THE REPLACEMENT SHIELDS OFFER UV PROTECTION?
A shield will naturally filter some UV light, but we, nonetheless, had our tinted shields tested by an independent lab and they found our shields offer excellent UVA and UVB Protection. We also comply with all standard regulations, penetration resistance and shatter proofing-eye protection.
ARE ALL ZOX SHIELDS ANTI-FOG?
High-end models like the Spectra model come with a standard anti-fog shield. You can also purchase an anti-fog shield separately, which is available in several shades and tints for any ZOX helmet.

WHAT DO I DO IF I NEED A REPLACEMENT PART FOR MY HELMET?

CAN WE TOUCH UP THE PAINT?
Helmets should not be painted or repainted. Paint can and will often contain solvents that could alter the helmet’s finish and outer shell properties, causing premature aging and potential cracking of the protective shell material, which could jeopardize your safety.
What is SNELL and DOT standard?
DOT is the US Government’s Department of Transportation (DOT). DOT sets minimum standards that all helmets sold for motorcycling on public streets must meet. The standard is Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 218 (FMVSS 218) and is known commonly as the DOT standard. The Snell Memorial Foundation is a private non-profit organization that sets voluntary standards for motorcycle helmets, bicycle helmets and auto racing helmets, as well as other kinds of protective headgear. Snell standards are the world’s toughest and demand quite a bit more protective capability in helmets than anybody else on the planet. NB: CSA, the Canadian standard no longer test motorcycle helmets.
HOW SHOULD I CLEAN MY HELMET?
Motorcycle helmet care may appear to be a simple process, and it is simple, but it’s a careful science as well. Helmets may be sensitive to strong cleaners, as these chemicals could break down the helmet’s composition. It’s important to always wear a helmet that provides optimal protection, so strong cleaners should be avoided. It’s recommended that you clean both the outside and the inside of your helmet with a mild soap or shampoo. Don't immerse the helmet in water, simply use a sponge or cloth to wash the outside and inside, rinse using a wet cloth and towel-dry thoroughly. Then, let it air dry, keeping in mind that some helmets may take a couple of days to dry completely. We also suggest placing the helmet on top of a large dry towel to help absorb the excess water. After using the helmet, the visor should be wiped clean with a wet soft cloth (use mild soap), so as to remove any dead insects, dirt, dust, etc. Then, fully wipe it clean using a dry soft cloth. Clean the chin-strap the same way as the helmet. If at all possible, place your helmet in a helmet bag or some kind of slipcover when you're not using it, to keep it from getting scratched or dusty. This way, it'll look nicer when you use it and maybe last a little longer as well.
WHEN SHOULD I REPLACE MY HELMET?
It’s generally recommended that you buy a new helmet every three to four years, depending on the level of care and frequency of use. We also recommend that if you’ve been in a crash, fall or other impact, you should immediately purchase a new helmet, even if the helmet seems intact. The naked eye is not capable of detecting any damage to the interior shell and the helmet structure, which absorbs the shock and impact. It’s, therefore, much safer to immediately replace the helmet.
Helmet replacement is recommended even if only one of the below mentioned points applies:
1- The helmet was involved in an impact.
2- The comfort padding or the retention system show signs of heavy wear, have become loose or display signs of deterioration.
3- The synthetic foam padding displays signs of heavy use and the helmet feels loose.
WHAT WARRANTY DO I HAVE?
All ZOX helmets carry a one year warranty, from date of purchase, against all manufacturing defects - with a proof of purchase or a copy of the bill.
